FINAL TOURNAMENT TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 15 - 2012

Tournaments will be held as scheduled above.  If, for any reason, fewer than 8 players participate in any tournament the points earned will not be counted towards the yearly point total.  Additionally, there will be no $5/player contribution towards the final tournament for that specific monthly tournament.

IN THE EVENT THAT NEITHER OF THE 2 TYPICAL HOSTS CAN ATTEND ANY GIVEN MONTH, A REGULAR PLAYER SHALL BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO HOST A TOURNAMENT.  IF NO REGULAR PLAYER AGREES TO HOST THE TOURNAMENT, THE ABOVE IDENTIFIED SCHEDULE SHALL BE MODIFIED TO ALLOW FOR A TIME WHEN ONE OF THE 2 TYPICAL HOSTS CAN HOUSE THE GAME.

GAME TIME

– ALL TOURNAMENTS WILL BEGIN ON TIME (GENERALLY 7:30 – TO BE DETERMINED BY THE HOST).  A PLAYER WHO DOES NOT ARRIVE ON TIME (AND WHO DOES NOT CALL AHEAD) MAY NOT BE ALLOWED A SEAT.  IF A PLAYER ARRIVES LATE AND THERE IS A SEAT AVAILABLE THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE THE ADDITION OF A TABLE, THE LATE PLAYER MAY BUY IN.  A PENALTY WILL BE ASSESSED TO A LATE PLAYER WHO DOES NOT CALL IN ADVANCE.  THE PENALTY SHALL BE EQUAVALENT TO THE BLINDS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PAID HAD THE PLAYER ARRIVED ON TIME.  ADDITIONALLY, THE PLAYER MUST POST AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO  THE BIG BLIND IN THE FIRST HAND THAT THEY PLAY (IF THEY HAPPEN TO BE SEATED IN THE BIG BLIND POSITION, THEY WILL ONLY BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE BIG BLIND).

A PLAYER WHO CALLS IN TO SAY THEY WILL BE LATE WILL PAY ALL APPROPRIATE BLINDS IN THEIR ABSENCE.  A PLAYER WHO HAS CALLED IN BUT HAS NOT ARRIVED WILL NOT BE DEALT CARDS IN THEIR ABSENCE.

START TIMES MAY BE ALTERED AT THE DISCRETION OF THE HOST IN THE EVENT OF POOR WEATHER, EMERGENCY, OR OTHER REASONABLE CAUSE.

BUY IN/PRIZES

THE BUY IN FOR THE FIRST TOURNAMENT EACH PLAYER PLAYS IN SHALL BE $25 (NO $5 CONTRIBUTION TO THE FINAL TABLE) FOR 1500 CHIPS.  THE BUY IN FOR EACH SUBSEQUENT TOURNAMENT THAT EACH PLAYER ELECTS TO PLAY IN SHALL BE $30 (except for the Final Tournament which shall be a $25 buy in).

NEW FOR 2011-2012:  IN ORDER TO OFFSET COSTS OF END OF YEAR PRIZES, A PLAYER MAY ELECT TO PAY $1 AT THE BEGINNIG OF EACH TOURNAMENT FOR 100 ADDITIONAL CHIPS.  BY PURCHASING THE 100 ADDITIONAL CHIPS, THE PLAYER EARNS 1 ENTRY INTO A 50/50 DRAWING.  A 50/50 DRAWING SHALL BE HELD DURING THE MARCH TOURNAMENT AND AT THE FINAL TABLE.  THE WINNER OF THE 50/50 DRAWING NEED NOT BE PRESENT TO WIN.  50 PERCENT OF THE MONEY RAISED FOR THIS DRAWING WILL GO TOWARDS THE 50/50CASH PRIZES. 50 PERCENT WILL GO TOWARDS PRIZES FOR THE CHAMPION AND TOWARDS THE FINAL TABLE CASH PAYOUTS.

NEW FOR 2011-2012:  AT THE DISCRETION OF THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS, A PLAYER MAY BE PERMITTED TO PLAY FOR ONLY THE $25 BUY-IN FOR MORE THAN ONE TOURNAMENT IF THERE IS COMPELLING EVIDENCE THAT THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY A THE FINAL TABLE.  THE INTENT OF THIS RULE IS TO ENCOURAGE MORE PLAYERS TO PLAY WHO MAY BE AVAILABLE ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS.  IF A PLAYER QUALIFIES FOR PLAYING AT THE FINAL TABLE AND THEY HAVE NOT PAID THE FULL PRICE (LESS THAN $30 MORE THAN ONCE) THEY SHALL BE PERMITTED TO PLAY AT THE FINAL TABLE IF AND ONLY IF THEY PAY AN AMOUT EQUALT TO THE AMOUNT THEY WERE DISCOUNTED DURING THE REGULAR TOURNAMENT YEAR.

A player who busts out (completely) may re-buy 750 chips for $10. This player must buy in immediately if they wish to continue playing. A player who does not bust out before the first break may elect to add-on 750 chips at the first break for an additional $10.  A player is limited to 1 re-buy or add-on per tournament.  Re-buys and add-ons are not available for the final table.

$25 from each player’s buy in during the regular season will be paid back out to the top three finishers each month; 50% to the winner, 35% for second place and 15% for third place. If more than 16 players play in any regular season tourney the payouts will be 40%, 30%, 20% and 10% for each place first through fourth respectively.   The remaining $5 will go towards prizes for the Final Tournament.  Additionally, $6 for each re-buy/add-on will be paid out that night ($3 to first place, $2 to second, and $1 to third) the remainder ($4) of all re-buy and add-on monies will go to the final tournament payouts.   The Final Tournament payouts are as follows:

POINT SYSTEM

Points will be recorded throughout the season and will be available on line at www.ovpokersyndicate.com

Players are personally responsible for recording their finish position for each tournament on the provided sign out sheet.

A. Player Points

“Player Points” will be earned for each tournament in which an individual player participates.  Points awarded to a player each month will be based upon an inverse of the total player field for the month.  For example, a person who finishes first in a 20 person tournament would earn 20 points.  A player who finishes in 13th place in the same tournament would earn 8 points.   Note:  The minimum player points a person can earn will be 3.  That is, if you show up and participate you are guaranteed at least 3 points.

B. Bonus Points

“Bonus Points” will be earned in addition to player points for the players who finish in the first three positions each month.  The winner of each monthly tournament will be awarded 6 bonus points.  The runner up will be awarded 4 bonus points and the third place finisher will be awarded 2 bonus points.

C. KNOCKOUT POINTS

A PLAYER WILL BE AWARDED 1 KNOCKOUT POINT FOR EACH PLAYER THAT HE/SHE ELIMINATES FROM A REGULAR SEASON TOURNAMENT.  KNOCKOUT POINTS WILL BE ADDED TO THE TOTAL OF POINTS EARNED FOR THAT TOURNAMENT.

D.  BOUNTY POINTS

FOR EACH TOURNAMENT, A 100 CHIP BOUNTY SHALL BE PLACED ON THE HEAD OF THE PERSON WHO PLAYS WHO FINISHED IN THE HIGHEST POSITION IN THE PREVIOUS MONTH’S  TOURNAMENT.  THE 100 CHIP BOUNTY SHALL BE ADDED TO THE FINAL TABLE CHIP STACK.  FOR THE FIRST TOURNAMNET OF THE YEAR, THE BOUNTY SHALL BE PLACED ON THE PREVIOUS SEASON’S CHAMPION.

FINAL TOURNAMENT

Any player who participates in at least three regular season games may elect to participate in the Final Tournament.  The buy in for the Final Tournament shall be $25 except for the top three regular season point leaders.  The regular season point leaders (3) shall be permitted to play at the Final Tournament for no additional fee.  The regular season point leaders shall be determined by adding the total points earned in EACH PLAYERS 7 BEST monthly tournaments.

A players starting chip stack for the Final Tournament will be determined by the following formula:

500 chips +  chips per point earned during their BEST 7 REGULAR SEASON FINISHES  + 20  CHIPS FOR EACH TOURNAMENT PLAYED IN + ANY BOUNTY POINTS.

Date of the Final Tournament is tentatively scheduled for September 15, 2012.  The players who are in the top 5 positions based upon points earned at the beginning of the July 2012 tournament shall vote to decide when the Final Tournament will take place.  These 5 players must come to a unanimous decision as to when the tournament will be held.  If a unanimous decision cannot be arrived at, the tournament will be held on September 15, 2012.
