GAME TIME

NEW FOR 2009-2010 – ALL TOURNAMENTS WILL BEGIN ON TIME (GENERALLY 7:30 – TO BE DETERMINED BY THE HOST).  A PLAYER WHO DOES NOT ARRIVE ON TIME (OR WHO DOES NOT CALL AHEAD) MAY NOT BE ALLOWED A SEAT.  IF A PLAYER ARRIVES LATE AND THERE IS A SEAT AVAILABLE THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE THE ADDITION OF A TABLE, THE LATE PLAYER MAY BUY IN FOR THE RE-BUY PRICE OF $15 ($10 RE-BUY AND $5 FOR YEAR END TOURNEY).  THIS PLAYER WOULD RECEIVE 750 CHIPS.  NO ADDITIONAL RE-BUYS OR ADD-ONS WOULD BE AVAILABLE TO THIS PLAYER.  IF A PLAYER DOES NOT ARRIVE BEFORE THE SECOND BLIND ADVANCE, THEY CANNOT BUY IN, UNLESS THEY HAVE CALLED IN ADVANCE.  A PLAYER WHO CALLS IN TO SAY THEY WILL BE LATE WILL PAY ALL APPROPRIATE BLINDS IN THEIR ABSENCE.  THEIR CARDS WILL BE FOLDED EACH HAND UNTIL THEY ARRIVE.

START TIMES MAY BE ALTERED AT THE DISCRETION OF THE HOST IN THE EVENT OF POOR WEATHER, EMERGENCY, OR OTHER REASONABLE CAUSE.

BUY IN/PRIZES

The buy in for each tournament shall be $30 (except for the Final Tournament which shall be a $25 buy in).

New to the 2009-2010 season is the addition of a re-buy/add-on.  A player who busts out (completely) may re-buy 750 chips for $10. This player must buy in immediately if they wish to continue playing. A player who does not bust out before the first break may elect to add-on 750 chips at the first break for an additional $10.  A player is limited to 1 re-buy or add-on per tournament.  Re-buys and add-ons are not available for the final table.

Re-buys/add-ons will be in effect for 3 months.  A vote will be held at the beginning of the 4th tourney to determine if the option to re-buy/add-on will remain in effect for the remainder of the year.  Each player who is present at the 4th tourney and who has played in one previous tourney this tourney year shall have one vote.  For the re-buy/add-on to remain in effect, a simple majority is needed.

$25 from each player’s buy in during the regular season will be paid back out to the top three finishers each month; 50% to the winner, 35% for second place and 15% for third place. New this year, if more than 16 players play in any regular season tourney the payouts will be 40%, 30%, 20% and 10% for each place first through fourth respectively.   The remaining $5 will go towards prizes for the Final Tournament.  Additionally, $6 for each re-buy/add-on will be paid out that night ($3 to first place, $2 to second, and $1 to third) the remainder of all re-buy and add-on monies will go to the final tournament payouts.   The Final Tournament payouts are as follows:

1st place – 40%             2nd place – 22.5%             3rd place – 17.5%                    4th place – 12.5%                    5th place – 7.5%

POINT SYSTEM

Points will be recorded throughout the season and will be available on line at www.ovpokersyndicate.com

Players are personally responsible for recording their finish position for each tournament on the provided sign out sheet.

A. Player Points

“Player Points” will be earned for each tournament in which an individual player participates.  Points awarded to a player each month will be based upon an inverse of the total player field for the month.  For example, a person who finishes first in a 20 person tournament would earn 20 points.  A player who finishes in 13th place in the same tournament would earn 8 points.   Note:  The minimum player points a person can earn will be 3.  That is, if you show up and participate you are guaranteed at least 3 points.

B. Bonus Points

“Bonus Points” will be earned in addition to player points for the players who finish in the first three positions each month.  The winner of each monthly tournament will be awarded 6 bonus points.  The runner up will be awarded 4 bonus points and the third place finisher will be awarded 2 bonus points.

FINAL TOURNAMENT

Any player who participates in at least three regular season games may elect to participate in the Final Tournament.  The buy in for the Final Tournament shall be $25 except for the top three regular season point leaders.  The regular season point leaders (3) shall be permitted to play at the Final Tournament for no additional fee.  The regular season point leaders shall be determined by adding the total points earned in each monthly tournament.

A players starting chip stack for the Final Tournament will be determined by the following formula:

500 chips + 25 chips per point earned during the regular season.

Date of the Final Tournament is tentatively scheduled for September 11, 2010.  The players who are in the top 5 positions based upon points earned at the beginning of the July 2010 tournament shall vote to decide when the Final Tournament will take place.  These 5 players must come to a unanimous decision as to when the tournament will be held.  If a unanimous decision cannot be arrived at, the tournament will be held on September 11, 2010.
